Ultras / Choreography Image Thread

Postby RomaShield27 » Sat Apr 28, 2012 6:12 pm

A thread to celebrate the passion and the colour of calcio, the great choreography which we've all seen over the years.

It is perhaps something of a dying trend, with restrictions and regulations and the tag of 'ultra' being mislabelled, but is something to appreciate all the same.

These are all images I have saved over the years, retouched by myself. I have a lot of these in bigger resolution as well.

Credit for some of them and good places to get pics:

Grazie lads. Nice pics Red, Aberdeen have some nice choreography going on. I have to say I didn't realise they were as colourful a bunch.

Davey, nice pic too, are you really in it? I have some Roma ones which I'm in which I might post.

Aberdeen were the first to do displays in Scotland and no-one has managed to do it better.

Celtic have started to try, but haven't managed anything significant.

Red Ultras dispanded, though.

They were in constant conflict with other fans (including my Dad, amusingly) over believing themselves to be 'better' fans than everyone else because they chose to wave flags at games.

Fell out with them a few times myself. Notably on their bus coming back from Edinburgh. Lead to a long, tense journey home. :D

lol, S.E.I? St Pats what? You have to laugh at league of Ireland 'ultras'.

Red, yeh Aberdeen's displays do look better then Celtics. Although i have to say I like the banner from the Old Firm the weekend mocking Ranger's demise, very original:

The S.E.I.? Shed End Invincibles, Edzo! The "curva" in Richmond Road is actually a shed! Looking forward to getting back for some games this summer, it's great fun. I always went with the same two mates, so I don't know a lot of the fans very well, but there was no shortage of banter in the pub. I remember (the start ... not how it ended, except that I managed to get home and had half a kebab in my pocket the next morning) a savage session with the "ultras" from Valletta F.C., whom we played in Europa a few years back. Jordi Cruyff was player-manager at the time, and got a lot of stick about being shit.

Displays at the derby were pretty smart, particularly Inter's:
