Chivu Does Not Want Barça Or Madrid Move

Christian Chivu does not want to move to either Real Madrid or FC Barcelona and has set his heart on seeing out the final year of his contract with AS Roma.

After weeks of speculation surrounding the Romanian internatinal's future his agent has now said that a move to la Primera is out of the question and that he wants to stay in Serie A.

Guivanni Becali was rumoured to have set up meetings with both Real Madrid and Barça since the end of the season, but he has now denied that.

"Madrid does not interest us, nor Barcelona," Chivu's representative said.

"We have no intention of opening talks with these clubs as he does not want to move abroad and they both know that.

"He wants to stay in Italy.

"He wants to stay with Roma and the club know that he is not interested in a transfer"

"If later on the club needs the money and they want to raise it by selling Christian then that is their responsibility."

Chivu is now likely to remain with Roma for one more season before leaving under the Bosman ruling when his contract expires next summer.

Having been told he was a vital member of the squad, Becali said that his client was not impressed with the club's offer of a new deal and that it was turned down.

"It was not an offer from a club that truly wants to retain Christian, who can earn much more in any other European team of a similar level," he continued.

"A year ago Roma made us a promise and said that after (Francesco) Totti and (Philippe) Mexes, that Christian was the most important player at the club

"They said he was one that they counted on, but the offer they have put forward does relflect those words and Christian is disappointed.
"Christian will now return for pre-season training and if Roma then decide to sell him, well, that is another matter."

According to this we didnt offer Chivu the same deal as Mexes??? If so, then i hope our managment would burn in hell. I have nothing more to say.

Becali is an agent so I'd take every word interpretation liberally... I would not be surprised though

More links.

The first one says something like Chivu has really no say in what's going on and that Becali is holding him hostage to take him to Inter for some huge comission. Would be nice if someone could fully translate, but I get the main point (which I just stated)...

iltempo.it/approfondimenti/index.aspx?id=1232618

The second one is excerpts from an interiew with Totti, where he seems very calm. Doesn't want to get involved in the Chivu business but wants him to stay because he's a friend and a great player and is saying that things are picking up this summer.

one major thing that has been forgotten amidst all of this xff shite is that it was the one-year anniversary of italia's world cup victory! forza azzurri!

i'm off to watch the ot of the germany game (foreplay) and then the final, both of which i still have on my pvr from last year. i'll let you guys all know how those games turned out tomorrow.

ciao

Leverkusen See Faty As New Vieira

Bayer Leverkusen are looking forward to the new season and seeing the impact their new signing Ricardo Faty will have in the Bundesliga.

Faty has signed on loan from Roma and the Leverkusen management believe they have a real gem on their hands.

The 20 year old is one of France’s most exciting talents. He captained the U-21 team to victory in this summer’s Toulon tournament. He is big, strong and athletic.

“He reminds me of Patrick Vieira in his stature and the way he playsâ€

Montella Now, Champions League In Four Years Time, Promises Sampdoria President

The Patron of the Blucerchiati is very confident on the present and the future of the Genoa based club as he spoke during the radio program 'Gr Parlamento'.

Riccardo Garrone, President of Sampdoria, has made it no secret that the Blucerchiati want to sign Vincenzo Montella from Roma, revealing that the deal could be sealed soon.

"Marotta is taking care of this matter, but I believe that the end of the negotiation is quite close."

For Montella, this would be a return as the 'Aeroplanino' had already played for Sampdoria during 1996 and 1999, before joining Roma and winning the Scudetto with the Giallorossi.

With the near future being taken care of, Garrone has already prepared the objectives for the next few years.

"This year we are aiming for a Uefa Cup spot, but within the next four years we shall try to reach the Champions League," promised the optimistic President.
___________________________________________________

Montella has been a favourite for what he's done for us in the past. he will always be remembered as the bane of Lazio. but at least he leaves and retires with some dignity. he will be remembered with the other memorable number 9s of our past........ up there with Pruzzo (i could be wrong here) and Voeller

yah but we always have the option to say "no"....... but then again, wait for the Rosella surprise. on another note, Spalletti was keen to sign him, so he'll have the best answer if he's still around then

Roma Join Bojinov Chase

AS Roma fan-daily ‘il Romanista’ is reporting that the Giallorossi are now tracking Fiorentina forward Valeri Bojinov.

The young Bulgarian’s contract talks with Fiorentina broke-down last week, with the Viola’s club director Pantaleo Corvino announcing Bojinov was free to look for another club.

Torino appeared to be the front-runners in the chase, but in the last hours the Roman wolves have made a serious push for the player, and are now in a better position to sign him as they can offer a better salary than the Granata.

Fiorentina are asking for 6 million Euros in exchange for the former Lecce starlet's services.

'The Romanista' adds that Roma are also still keen on signing Barcelona wing Giuly.
________________________________________________

interest for Bojinov sparks back up again but i dont think Roma would buy unless on a free. speaking of Giuly, Totti has made the call to have Giuly join us a few days ago. Giuly claims he is happy to stay with Barcelona but i hear from some of the Offsiders that despite these claims, he is trying to pull a Chivu to get a larger salary.

i just heard Prade denied that ahahahhaa

Barusso went through some fitness tests today

Real Madrid sign Pepe from Porto so they have no need for Chivu. Shuster is also official which means we will never see Cicinho in our beautiful red and gold

oh and something about Okaka to Modena

It looks as though we finally finished the deal for Modesto.
No details yet. Okaka is being loaned out to Modena it
appears.

The Chivu matter is a soap opera and honestly,
I do not have the energy to comment. Lets hope
we can make the best possible deal with Inter
and be done with it. If anyone here had any
illusions about the the italian press during
transfer season, this Chivu matter should put
those illusions to rest. Inter, Barca, then Real,
then Barca, then Real, now, there is only Inter.

Good to see you here vtec. I saw the reappearance of old Dino. It is a bit of a blood bath over there right now. Man are we trouble-makers.

"I see wars, horrid wars, the Tiber foaming
with much blood.
You shall have your Simois
your Xanthus, and your Doric camp; already
there is in Latium a new Achilles."

yes, i tried signing up last night when glad sent me the pm, but getting past the security code here is a real bitch. apparently it's case sensitive. anyway, hopefully we can stay here, at least until shield gets tony montana syndrome and starts power tripping on us

soc is really losing it over there, it's sad to see as i thought he was better than that.

It was all a facade...in the end, every single on of those mods put together couldn't muster up an ounce of personality. All were picked on in high school and find that moderating a forum is the best way at getting the world back...the inmates running the asylum.
