Inpeccable timing Shield! By the way Sportssmith Discount Sports Wear, I think they are on Talbot Street in D1 are selling all 3 Roma jerseys 08/09 for €29.99 each. Thats a very good price I'd get one if I didn't already have all three from last seasson. The missus would kill me! :-)

Yeah I know that shop. Thats a great offer. I already have two of our jerseys from this season: the home one and the black away one (my favourite jersey in a long while). Guess there's not too many people out there wanting to buy Roma jerseys anymore.

Maro, no doubt there will. Nevertheless, i think Unicredit getting impatient, and even aggressive, may turn out to be a good thing to make the Sensi's realise that they have no choice but to sell the club.

Yeah, the usual mind-games, and as Gio has said before, all for the sake of preventing any leeky information that effects the stocks.

This shitesnut info I hope is just the start to what will eventually put a stake through Rosella's regime.

Let's all move on, get ourselves a new owner with cash, get us the players that we need and sign the ones that deserve it, and let's move forward, God willing.

Roma defender Juan has penned a new contract which will keep him at Trigoria until 2013, the club have announced.

After months of ongoing speculation, the Giallorossi have finally secured the services on the powerful Brazilian stopper. Juan's original deal was due to expire in 2011, but the club have moved in to guarantee a further two years with their man.

A statement on Roma's official website reads:

"AS Roma S.p.A and Silveira Dos Santos Juan announce that they have agreed to extend the contract from today until June 30, 2013.

"The player will receive €4.5million for the seasons 2008/09, 2009/10, and 2010/11.

"And €4.6m for the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons, as well as bonuses in relations to preset objectives."

Roma will maintain the player's image rights. The club's move to offer Juan an extension signals their intent to carrying on being competitive at the highest levels.

I wonder if this is really true?

The contracts of Juan and Aquilani are good news. I wonder if we could have got them to agree to a pay-as-you-play deal? I wonder how much each of them has earnt per match over the past couple of seasons.

Guys, is that normal or does it hide something that we, for once, re-sign our players so easily. I am just wondering whether that is hiding something or not??? Is it a way for Rosella to show she still cares about our team or could it be an assurance to get the highest price possible from the sale?
Any opinion?...or is all this just normal?

I think it's all an attempt at PR, Frence' - to try and show both that the club is continuing to look forward despite all the surrounding distractions and that the Sensis are able to safe-guard the future of the club. Not that I'm complaining, of course - it'd just be nice were nailing down these contracts with a bit of precision and economy of fuss part of the regular practice of the club. If nothing else, Fioranelli's interest has forced Rosella et al. to get her shit together on these contracts; without that interest I think she'd still be dallying as long as she could.

aba, this is why we're all hoping to land a moneyed benefactor with the good of the team in mind instead of someone with her own wants, needs, and desires leading her.

Hypothetically...we couldn't stop at just Xavi and Iniesta if we had that kind of cash and clout. We couldn't waste such a class midfield by having lesser talent around them not knowing how to read both them and their play...or worse, not being able to do something with it even if they could see what was happening. We'd still need another two or three big names to take full advantage, transform a good into a truly great side.

We won't get those two but at least soon we can hopefully start dreaming of some quality rather than continuing with shopping in the bargain basement!

True Carlo, You're only as good as the players around you. Them boys Xavi and Iniesta is good, but lets think about how "great" they would be if they didn't have all of the all-stars around them.

Enjoy!

I think it will be an interesting game tomorrow. In fact, much harder for our team to win then some people might expect.

Its a road game for i lupi against a team that will give their all not to be relegated. Torino knows that absolutely everything is on the line tomorrow, and if the Roma players give them a bit of a chance, Torino will take advantage of it. Torino will probably fight every minute of the game tomorrow, let's hope our team does the same.

Keep in mind all Italian games are played 9am Eastern time tomorrow, the last games of the season.
